Hi. My name is Terry and I live just north of Fort Worth, TX. I have a white 2000 Subaru Sambar truck on order with a deposit made and a delivery date in early Oct. My Sambar specs: 5 sp with extra low gear, fog lights, air conditioning, and power steering. It has 38,000 miles on it. I will post photos when available. I am excited to be a member of this forum.
Hello there! Congratulations!!! I also have a subaru (2001) that is A/C and power steering. You will love it! (especially with the A/C and power steering!) I waited a good 2 1/2 months for mine, but it was well worth the wait. ~Josh
Terry, Glad you found the forum! I would have referred you to it if you hadn't found it already. I'm anxiously awaiting your truck (and the others) as well. Welcome aboard and enjoy the mini truck "family"!
Well if it's got foglights, and it's the one shown on Jason's website, then you've got a Supercharger on that bad boy too! Whoo hooo!
Now how on earth could I have forgotten that when I did my first post? The supercharged Subaru was the only mini truck I wanted. I had traveled many hundreds of miles tracking down leads (I had not yet found this forum) and was most surprised (and greatly pleased) to to find out Jason ( www.NorthTexasMiniTrucks.com ) had one coming and was unsold at the time I discovered it. Jason is only about 30 miles away from me. It The one I am getting from him has all the factory options I wanted on a mini-truck. I own nothing remaining in factory trim, so it will be just a matter of time before it is 'individulaized' to my desires. I will try and add the current photo after I post this note.
Looks exactly like our 2001. Ours has A/C, driver air bag, fuel injection and anti-lock brakes, but no power steering. Doesn't seem necessary. We are hoping the anti-lock brakes will help out in snow and ice on a short, short wheel base. I know it is pretty squirrely on a freshly graded dirt road, going downhill. That doesn't bode well. I put three 60 lb sand-tubes in the bed last night, ready for winter. Wish we had a cover for the battery, and a tonneau cover for the bed. Does anyone know where to get one that fits? Maybe I'll make some.
