I just bought a mini truck from a guy for $1500 good buy, I am trying to find out what I have sitting in my back yard. I heard they don't have vin numbers but serial numbers. I have been trying to find a decoder to tell me what year make and model I have but no luck. can anyone help me? my serial number is 11 digits long. I am also wondering if anyone knows where to find the best deal on parts, accessors, upgrades, and if you can buy a diesel motor for them? thanks for the help if I find good deals I will post them. scott

vin/serial# It is a suzuki, I don't have any pictures yet but will post them soon. I have a bunch of numbers, most of it is in japanese but here you go: NGK-DCPR7E = I think this is the spark plug number DD51T-158271 = I think this is the serial/vin # NDXU22EPRU = have no idea 55FOO = This may be the tag number but not sure, don't think it has much to do with anything important. If you guys can shine some light on my probblem that would be great. thanks alot scott :frustration:
I have another question as well, do these mini tucks have service manuals or owners manuals you can buy?
Does the truck look like this? I think you have a mid-90s Carry. Check the seatbelts - apparently there are tags sewn into them with the year of the truck. Manuals are available for the F6A-engined Carry... not sure about the DD51T. :sly: Colin
you can't easily swap a diesel into these, but when there's a will there's a way. in my opinion it's really not necessarry. these trucks have a "square" motor in them... 45 HP / 45 ft/lbs torque... you will be surprised at what you can get into... and out of with the selection of gearing these trucks have. as for your question about accessories and such, my best suggestion would be to use the search function at the top of the page and type in what you are looking for and see what comes up... there are also links to all the sites sponsors up there too, most of them offer accessories and repair parts. good luck.
I reason why I want a diesel is becuase I can get more MPH and I can convert it to run off of veg. oil.
If you are determined to put a diesel in it Tiger Trucks in Oklahoma have a Caterpillar diesel option. I have no idea what you would have to go thru to get one to bolt up to a Suzuki or if they would sell an engine.
i think you might have problems with putting a diesel in there if you are looking for more MPH. all the diesels i have owned/driven (except for detroits) make all their power by about 2200 rpm or less... with the gearing in these trucks you would have one hell of a stump puller with all that torque and low gear ratios but would top out about 40MPH if you're lucky. i know i've got mine wound up pretty tight when i'm on the hiway.
I am going to do some more research, I have to find a motor that is street legal. all the diesels I have been looking at are for pumps and things like that. I started turning my head toward old diesel enignes like VW rabbit, TDIs, Pup truck, and things like that I have found a few that are cheap, I have a conntact that will make adaptor plate to fit to my tranny no matter what kind of engine I put in it. However if the tranny will fit I will just buy them as a unit. ideas? scott
Hello every one. so I have a 2003 tiger truck crew cab seats 5. and the guy I traided for it never had a title. does anyone know how and if i can even get one
There may have never been a title since these are low speed vehicles and most states do not allow these on the streets. Since it's not "street worthy" there no state DMV title to register for. A certificate of origin or manufacturing may exist.
This thread is from 2008. However after they are 25 years old, they are legal in most states through FMVSS/ DOT exemption providing they were imported after they turned 25 years old. Several of us have or had them on the road
