I had an engine swap finish from the fabricators and now I have another issue. How short of a drive shaft can one have?
As it looks now, after putting the yoks bas in trani and rear end. I'll only have a 3" shaft. Are there alternatives I can look into?

This is as short as I had to go. I put a Hc 1.3 l engine with 5 speed. I found a drive line specialist here and they hooked me up. Tiny isn't it?

How much did the whole new set up cost?

You mean the parts (installation) , importation of parts, fabrication of motor mounts ? Shortening drive shaft, ect ...., ? It's still not running yet so I'm still counting the costs .

If I would have known I could buy a piaggio porter with the 1.3 l engine stock . I wouldn't not have bought the Daihatsu hijet from Japan. And it would have been cheaper in the long run. Before you buy . Look towards the piaggio porter instead of the Japanese versions. Porters were meant for road operation.

You know , I'm almost afraid to say what Ive put into it . And it still isn't running yet.

I paid like $2500 for the engine, transmission, rear axle, wiring harness, from the UK. & 5k for fabrication . I had to relocate the rear axle back 10" if I knew then what I know now I would have never done it. But I can't really say that because I haven't had to drive it yet either.
