So after digging deeper and poking around! I found this unconnected mystery line coming off the inside frame of the left side. If your looking at the frame on the left side over the bed compartment! it’s between the to heater air hoses and it’s a rubber 1/4” line about 14” long. Truck runs good. But a mystery. Anyone!!!!! 9C010D67-7F35-43C9-9666-B4131EB1C68A.jpeg 5118005A-0B18-40E8-9F19-6E12E6A80957.jpeg 3A559CD9-1A44-41D8-8CD8-DF4DE0AC428C.jpeg

Really need some help here Guys! This mystery line is killing me! It’s not hurting anything, but I’m very anal about things. It’s like you do it one way and 2 days later you want to make it even better!

Vacuum line? Can't be far from where it's supposed to terminate.

There’s nothing there to hook too! Can someone look at their mini and maybe help me!

If it terminates in the rail it could just be a vent hose so something doesn't suck air in deep water. For instance, it may attach to that dizzy cap in the one picture. My van has these for the dizzy, the transaxle breather and one other (can't remember).

In my s83p the line in question is connected to the distributor cap. I assume this is vacuum advance on the timing? Looking at your picture, the connection on your distributor has a cap on it. I think. If it is running well, no worries? Maybe put a plug in the hose and see what happens? Or even connect it? Couldn’t hurt.

I have a line coming off the distributor at the bottom that goes to the vacuum tree port for the vacuum advance, so you guys are saying this other line hooks to the distributor or the dizzy cap?

Sorry if I caused confusion. I said vacuum advance, but I am not sure. The line in your picture, terminates at the Dis. Cap on my truck. I think I have marked it in your photo here:

In these two pics you can see the line coming from the frame and terminating on the distributor cap.

yes, but where does the other line on the distributor cap go?

To a vacuum port. The intent is for a small amount of air to be continually drawn through the distributor cap. This prevents a build up of ionized air in the cap, which will cause misfires.

I learned as a young kid driving through streams, creeks and mud holes. Water would get in to the Dizzy cap (distributor) and stall the truck or atv out! We found a lite spray of some PB Blaster or WD-40 on the inside of the cap, would keep the truck or atv running.
