I just bought it and now going through it to weed out the few bugs and be sure it has my personal pick of oils and filters. I use Mobil1 oil for my engines and Wix filters, I found it had a fram filter on it and knew that had to go as imo, that’s the worse choice ever. I used 10W30 oil as from looking at the temperature and viscosity recommendations I just went with the 10W30. I had noticed a slight rattling in my engine after it had warmed up completely and to me it just didn’t sound right so decided to change the motor oil and filter right away. After the oil change I noticed a slight increase in rpm at idle and a completely different sounding motor that I’m liking better.
Everyone has their choice of oils and filters and I’ve been one looking for the best oils and filters over my 38 years working in the automotive repair business, and have no problem suggesting the products that I just mentioned in this thread, I haven’t found any better. Remember, I’m not trying to tell persons here what to do, I’m just offering advise from my personal experience.
Next, the transmission/transfer case oil change. I’m finding that shifting into reverse is a bit difficult so hoping to find that a fresh oil change will help with this and that it’s nothing to do with a wrong oil used instead of a GL3 type which is most important for these synchro trannies.

    A. Gillingham,
    In reference to your post above, I agree with a lot of what your saying, and I definitely value your 38 yrs. of proven experience, that's import,BUT! Yeah here it Comes, BUT;
The Fram Filters, are far from the worst oil filters that you can pick! Somewhere in the middle of the road, as far as oil filters go! Over 200 yrs. of heavy equipment, mechanical experience, in a shop I used to work with some of the Best I've ever run across! We did our own oil filter testing, besides the Consumer digest test as a reference! Wix, I agree, one of the very best if not the BEST!!! We tested some Baldwin's,STP,Motorcraft,(Ford), GM, etc...... A while back in one of the past forums, I published details results of out Testing!
I know that you can go crazy with this stuff, but for most, and for the Money, a Fram filter will do most very well! That's my opinion Naturally, and I'm not trying to argue with you, or even doubt your opinion, I'm just stating my factual feelings, and displaying them!
I know you can get crazy spending a lot of money, on filters, oil, etc.......Maintenance material!
And I do appreciate your views, these are just mine! Thanks,

Well, I like the design I came up with but it is not a sturdy as I had hoped. So, I'm on to rev B. Once I get something I feel is functionally sound I will share.

DEBB51E2-BCA3-424D-83CB-5A7400D084B2.jpeg Worked on his new buddy the tractor. bought a TYM T233, 23-hp 3-cylinder diesel. ( Alittle loader to go with the little dump truck, and dump trailer) Just cleaning it up, and fixing a few broke things, which the buddy I bought it from, couldn’t quite figure out.

Now, I think I need to paint the truck, and the trailer TYM red, and get some Tonka stickers for the bed sides, and front.

I have a cross bed tool box, bolted to the front of the bed. I mounted fork brackets to it. Had a 2X6 cut to the width of the bed, that I had the wheel mounts, and some Velcro straps to hold the ear wheels in place.

I pulled them off after I built the hard tonneau, and am getting the bits and pieces together to mount a Yakima rack system, with the rear bar mounted to the tonneau, and the front bar mounted to the top of the tool box.

I decided to pimp my Suzuki Carry this Summer. She was in relatively good condition when I took delivery of the truck last November. However, somewhere in its prior life it must have been living where fine dust was an issue. I noticed that everything behind the dash, inside the speedo head, inside the headlight assemblies, etc was covered in a very fine dust coating, so the first order of business was to clean everything. In trying to read the instruments at night, I thought I needed new glasses. The headlights looked like they were kind of frosted on the inside. However, after taking the instruments and lights apart and using a little Windex as the cleaning agent, the gauges were now crystal clear and easier to read at night.
I purchased and installed the front and rear bumper & hitch assemblies and the Blackline hydraulic snow plow package before X-Mass. They got a quite a few chances this past winter to demonstrate the truck’s capabilities as a plow vehicle. I wanted a little more front -end clearance so I installed the new progressive springs up front. To help Improve her reliability, we did a complete tune up, new brakes all around, refreshed all the fluids, the belts, water pump, etc.
On the interior, I installed the new tach, and since the truck had no backlit dash lights from the factory, I installed a dimmable red LED mini spot light in front of the rear-view mirror. It now shines down and illuminates the face of the dash, the plow controls, and the shifter. I also installed a bright LED bulb in the dome light so that it actually lit up the cabin at night time when opening the doors. The old radio was toast when I got the truck so I added a new radio with the built- in speakers, as well as a new antenna to help with her reception.
I had new 2- toned seat and head rest covers, and new door cards made at the local boat upholstery shop. I insulated the engine compartment, and the front and rear walls with sound deadening foam and then covered it all in a grey felt material to freshen up the cabin and silence some of the engine and road noise. I had a new carpet cut and bound by the local carpet guy. To finish off the interior I added the new Grant steering wheel, a white 4 speed shift knob, and a cup holder made out of the rear end of a Honda Fit center console.
In the exterior lighting department, I installed an LED 3 rd brake light, replaced the rear tail lights with much brighter LED rear light assemblies, installed 3 super bright LED reverse lights to aid my rear vision when plowing at night, added new LED side marker lights, and added a new back lit LED Suzuki logo emblem on the front hood.
After deciding between a couple of new paint schemes, I had the entire truck re-painted in the 2- toned white and dark blue color scheme, and then added the painted yellow strobe
    stripe to make her unique.
The same company that made me the seat covers also made me a custom snap on cargo cover in a tear resistant material. I installed 4 tie downs inside the pick-up bed to hold down the 50- gallon water bladder that I use to add some weight when plowing. We replaced all the corner plastic end caps in the pickup bed walls, as well all the rubber bumpers to make the body panels nice and quiet. I glued some black rubber exercise mats together to make a pickup bed floor mat. She got treated to 5 new larger fancy wheels and tires, and I made Suzuki logo center caps from foil decals to make the wheels look like they came from the factory.
Still yet to come will likely be a trailer wiring harness, some new LED plow lights, a larger capacity alternator and battery, and some aluminum diamond plate on the inside of the tailgate and pickup walls.
Overall, I think she turned out pretty well. People now mistake her for a brand new truck.
For fathers day this year my son gave me a custom made Japanese sized vanity license plate to use at car shows. "11-5-9" spells out "KEI" in the alphabet, the Japanese writing on the upper left spells out Shizouka, which is the prefecture where Kei trucks are manufactured, the "E" is a Roman letter given to American servicemen driving in Japan (E is for Ed, me), and the 594 is the month and year of production of my truck. My son also came up with the color scheme, the striping concept and the Carry logo.

I have been swapping out corroded hardware and addressing some light surface rust. Planning to refinish/repaint the stock wheels. New tires will be ordered next week and a few LEDs to replace the interior and backup lights.
So many little things to do on a 27yo truck, but I enjoy it almost as much as driving it.

In an effort to improve my vision during nightime snow plowing I made a new bully bar for the front bumper out of 1.5 inch exhaust tubing and mounted a new 22 inch curved LED light bar as a snow plow light. I had the new bar powder coated in black wrinkle finish to match the existing front bumper assembly. I also added a 6 inch x 1/2 inch Tundra Tamer polyurethane plow cutting edge to help save the new blacktop on the driveway.

Installed a $20.00 stereo from Crutchfields and some speakers so I can listen to radio/CDs/or my gen 4 ipod using the aux 3.8mm jack. Waiting on the speaker grills to protect em from my feet. Sounds awsome and the whole thing only set me back about $60.00 in total.

Hello, I just got my Sambar last week :D

Here it is stock, fresh off the boat.

And thanks to these forums, I already had 14" rims and Nokian tires that I was 90% sure would fit. So that is what I did to my truck today last weekend.
