Mitsubishi U 42T flooding

    I installed a new carburetor on my U 42t and it ran fine for several weeks but now it is pouring gas out of the carburetor throat and the 2 secondary Jet vents and the oblong slot hole above the Venturi. I know or guess that it’s a stuck float and needle but checking if it could be anything else. The truck runs fine for a minute or so and then starts pouring gas even at a high rpm and then dies. If I disconnect the gas line it starts and runs until out of gas. I have done everything but remove the carb. Please give advice on your experiences.

    Sounds like you may have some dirt or such stuck & holding the float valve open. Gonna have to open it to find.

    Check the fuel pressure at the carb first. The carbs only wan to see about 2 to 2-1/2-lbs of pressure any more than that and the fuel will push past the float.

    Thank you for the reply. I figured that but I just hated to take the carb off Ana apart.

    On my Hijet the charcoal canister had become plugged, and was preventing proper venting of the fuel tank. As the pressure built up, the pressure on the fuel return line would go up, and it couldn’t regulate the pressure by dumping fuel back to the tank. So, it would overpressure enough to flood the carb after it ran for a bit.

    Remove the gas cap and see if it still happens. If it doesn't it could be what Jigs is saying. It is warming up outside. If it still does, it's likely a stuck or improperly adjusted float or trash in the needle

    Just tested my top speed with my motorcycle carburetor swap and I got between 120-130 KM/H. The carburetor I used was a NIBBI clone 34mm 250cc. The jets used were (main jet #150 and pilot jet #40). With these jets I don't have any issues with the idling and the acceleration. Here are the parts, videos of the installation and speed test:
