OK I believe it was an intake air leak!
The crappy rubber mount from China!
I got a good HD Mikuni and a single choke cable with half and full choke, snowmobile cable.
So far it has started right up every day with very little crank or stumble.
I have not rejetted it yet or even looked at the plugs.
Everything bolted right up, both throttle and choke cables, no mods!
Even the air cleaner mounted right up!

Question I have a fuel filter with the side (smaller) opening.
I come in from pump, return threw side back to tank, then out to the 2lb regulator and to the carb.
Does that seem correct to you all?

    Yep.

supply in, overflow back out to tank & exit from regulator to inlet on carb.

this is good news from you that the Japanese (with QC) fixed the problem but the chinese junk didnt.

mentioned a while back that the guy who bought this mini truck from me said that exact same QC problem was the issue with lots of the cheap china knock off carbs.

I'm not a guy who lives on the internet.

The $14 version is listed in the thread.

My buddy sells these. He won't give them away.

That 3 d printer version is Way too long!
The Bolt pattern on the intake is called a HD pattern
They make a china junk rubber flange
    OR get the Mikuni!

Kool a Pic of it all would be great too.

So how well does it start, and how long does it have to warm up before you can take off with out feathering the throttle?

I put a primer on mine and raised the jetting.
Fired right up and drove away!
2 Pumps of primer and that fixed the cold starts and long warm up!

What kind of primer did you install?

Can you show me what primer you used and boot because the boot I put in the picture will not work because it holds gas at the bottom and revs wide open. Any help would be awesome.

man im glad this thread has evolved as it went & is accomplishing what several of us intended from the start: to get these old toys easy starting & running good.

i still follow this thread & look for what you guys do next.... but gotta admit: now that ive got a EFI model? will never have anything else.

there is just no substitute for turning the key & its ready to rumble, hot, cold, winter, summer it doesnt matter.... it just goes.

I wonder how hard it would be to change everything over to efi.

Check out ecotrons 400cc to 800cc kit. I have given thought to utilizing this when & if my EFI goes bad. The price would be less than stock parts in my case.

Hell, it’s almost less expensive than a rebuilt carb for my Hijet.

I haven't checked other than just thinking about it. Reading the description, it seems as if one would have to email them & explain your situation and they could/would make or compile a system to comply with the needs of the user or even if their system would be compatable.

I am just wondering why you all went with the rhino 660 carb? That is a 2 cylinder 660cc. That makes the carb the right size for 330cc per cylinder. our trucks are 220cc per cylinder since it is 3 cyl. The carb is only supplying fuel to one cylinder at a time. I am wondering if that is why you have the problems of jetting it way down. Wouldnt it be better to use a 32-34 mm carb for a smaller displacement bike? Just going off of pure cc's a 250-300 Honda carb would be close to jetted right to start with. I haven't done it yet but that is what I am looking into.
