my distributor is really worn and will no longer open the points on my 2 cylinder 89 minicab need a replacement or a reputable re-builder.

Is it worn on the lobes or the shaft is wobbling?

I’d look at rebushing the shaft to remove any wobble, and install a Pertronix Hall effect trigger system. If you’re actually a machinist it should be a pretty straight forward project.

Are there bushing in it or bearings?

    Thanks

Most distributors have bronze bushings to guide the shaft. Some have bearings on the breaker plate.

I got the distributor pulled out it doesn’t seem to be that much play in the shaft but it seems like the lobes are worn down and are they only open the points at most five and to 7 thousands
