What am I looking at?

Discussion in 'Suzuki Carry' started by Jamison Lure & Fly, Feb 4, 2020.

  1. Those two top hoses are about rusted through and ready to fall out. Is that a catalytic converter on my '93 Carry? It is post exhaust manifold, and has a rickety looking sensor attached.

The truck runs fantastic, doesn't overheat but the hot exhaust warning light does come on.

The 2 hoses on top are thermactor hoses. Help with cold weather operation. That is a Cat on a '93 and that is a Cat overheat sensor. it lights a light up on the dash if the cat overheats ( plugged )

  3. Thank you. I have only heard that term when my uncle was working on a '67 Ford. Now I have to think about what to do with it.

I used thermactor hose from the parts store for each end and radiator hose in the center. Worked fine

2 things there on that cat.

it "could" be plugged up... but usually they dont run good if it is... the other is that the sensor could just be shot. it dont look real good.
