Progress on my '93 Suzuki Carry

Discussion in 'Suzuki Carry' started by Jamison Lure & Fly, Jan 27, 2020.

  1. I bought my '93 from a guy in Milwaukee for $3,000. I will try to share my progress...

    Features:
    -A/C
    -Heat
    -Diff lock
    -Axle lock
-5 spd with EL (crawler gear)
-13" alloy wheels with dry rot tires (Anyone wanna trade?)

    Things to fix or fixed:
-Rust through holes in panels (fixed) $10
-Rust through holes in driver side wheel well (fixed) $10
-Decals are nasty (replacements ordered) $30
-Heavily oxidized paint (painted and clear-coated) $55
-13" alloy wheels with dry rot tires (ordered new 12" ITP $130 wheels and SUNF tires $216)
-Seats are not torn but seams need sewn (in process)

    Still needed:
    -Oil change + filter
    -Air filter change
    -Tran/diff oil change
    -Flush & fill radiator

Including the trailer rental $45, fuel for RT to Milwaukee at $125 and feeding my son who went along for the ride $40 I am looking at around $3,600. I am hoping to stay under $4,000 for all I want to do.

    Comments are welcome...

  3. I actually thought of doing the Ford badging, too! I think it the UK one of the mini trucks was sold as the Ford Pronto.

    Jamison,
Not being familiar with the Suzuki carry. I noticed the radiator up front under the windshield. Is that the way they are designed and come from the factory? Sure does help to eliminate the radiator getting trashed on the Hijet, being low to the ground behind the front wheels. Nice find! Good Luck!

  6. It is. There are also steel rods underneath that protect the motor. It is pretty well designed.

  7. I am new to this world... I had no idea.
