I have seen some performance exhausts while trolling the web on some Japanese sites. Perhaps some of our vendor-members with good Japanese contacts can help there.

Look Here If you drag your curser over the Menu Items and look at the url that it's directing to in the lower left hand corner of your browser (E.I. anyways) you'll see Suzuki mufflers about the third one down.

    Keith,
I wish I could read Japanese. I get a fair amount of calls for performance parts.....I would love to be able to import some of these parts.

I tried to click on the email icon on this site....but there is no link on it....It may be wishful thinking that they would respond anyway. But if anyone does know how to read this site, let me know how I can get in touch with them.
    Thanks

I have a buddy that lives in Japan, I should see if he could translate these books or find one in English.

are there any ways to translate the web site

chevynut, I use the google toolbar, and it has a translate option. didn't do an awesome job on the page, but most of it was readable if you understand engrish.

on another note, I am seriously thinking about building a set of headers, straight pipes and an intake snorkel this fall/winter.

    D rock,
personally i wouldn't do two, i'd do one on the passenger side and run an intake snorkel on the other side. i need to get my air filter up out of all the dust that's under the truck. cleaning the air filter every 2 or 3 days gets old.

once i get it through the rest of the inspections, and have it registered, i'll be putting cattle stacks on it. i'm going to get one with a large enough diameter to tuck a small muffler inside it....

you're my new best friend :) j/k, i wonder if that would just be too big on there or if it would look cool? i was thinking of running one just big enough to tuck a small round muffler inside it at the bottom, i need to find a good muffler first i suppose?

I would love to get a set of headers put on my Carry. From what I've read, the F6A engine really likes intake/exhaust mods.

If you are looking for muffler, I was @ TSC (tractor supply company) yesterday. They have several mufflers that would work PERFECT for what you are taling about. Prob 4 inches round, 14 inches long or so, and what looks to be the same diameter inlet and out let! Anyway pretty close, It would work!

why would you want to do a silly thing like that?

  19. I don't suppose this thread is still going but here goes, has anyone tried or had any luck with putting a performance chip in their carry? I see a few posts for chips for carrys and I'm very tempted

Which carry you thinking of chipping?

  21. I've got a 1999 carry that I would love to try and get more power out of. Do you think it's possible to chip. It's fuel injected!

I am looking at a Mikuni 40mm pumper carb for mine
I have a 3 into 1 Cast short tube header and a full 2" exhaust

  23. Oh nice one, what year carry? And I've been messing around with my air intake.i fabbed up a k&n air filter to my original filter housing and was giving a lot of thought in making my own header and exhaust, that will be my next project. Have you noticed a difference in hp sense you did you exhaust work and if so, where have you noticed the difference. Bottom or top end?

Mostly top end, but once I change carb we will see!

  25. For me top end is all I'm worried about lol ive never owned or driven a carbureted 660 kei truck but I did have a 83 sambar which was a 2 cylinder 540cc which was pretty rough in power period lol but my carry has great bottom end, top end is lacking a bit when hills are at play, would you say the headers and 2 inch pipe is a well worth investment? I know that on top of a bigger carb, your probably gonna be pretty stoked

OH Heck yeah I have a lot more already
Went from 66 miles an hour toped out to well over 75!
I am running 24" tires too
I am wondering if there is a way to build more torque?
I am a Snowmobile Guru and I can build HP but that is usually with upper RPM
How do you build torque down low? Smaller carb?

  27. Wow that pretty incredible, that's a great gain and with torque, that's a tough one. Unless your gonna down size tires to get more torque, which I don't see that as being a good trade off lol hp is all you can do. I know a good friend of mines father has a 99 carry automatic with turbo and it's really quite amazing the power difference compared to mine and he's running an auto tranny. I think that's the way to go but that's also alot more in top end

  28. KCCats with your 3 in 1 header, is this something you fabbed up yourself or one you bought?

    I made it myself!
I took a 2" thick block of aluminum and made a collector and then a 2" exhaust.

OK I put a HD 40mm pumper CV Carb on now.
It has a vacuum port on the intake side so I put my Vac advance to it?
I have not had it out yet.
I have a feeling that my dist timing will be way off?
