I searched this forum and cannot locate a thread that identifies a good off road tires for a 4wd Sabara no lift/ stock wheels? I need like four wheeler tires, use in a road is not planned. Any ideas?

I read off the forum that Carlisle 6/12 true power are a good choice? Anyone use them? Thoughts?
    Replies appreciated.

I have the Carlisle 6/12's on my Sambar. I like them but I only use mine on dirt roads and trails. They would not be good on any hard road. They also give you a little more ground clearance.

The Carlisles I bought are Carlisle part number 570030.

No I don’t. But I’ll get some next time I’m up at the cabin.

Thanks ordered some today! I'll have to take them to the tire shop to get them on, but the ones I have turn to slicks in the mud so this should be brilliant.

Mine has Yokohama Super Diggers, I don't know if they are extreme enough, but they were highly recommended by the exporter..

Hope they work for you. Like I said good for off road but not so good on pavement.

Well I blew it.. I checked everything EXCEPT the rims that we're on it. The rim is 14x4.5. so now I have to send them back or get new rims/wheels. Apparently this is rocket science for this idiot.

Sorry, mine had 13 inch rims when I bought it but I could not find any tires I liked so I bought some used 12” rims so I could put on the tractor tires. Not much selection for the 12”or 13” but if the 14” have enough clearance there are a lot more to chose from. Hope they take them back.

I'm thinking about getting a 4x100 to 4x110 adapter($150) so it opens up the rim/wheel options (4 steel ITP 12x7 rims for around $200) to something a little more local. It also gives me another 1" clearance from rubbing. I can hopefully at that point use the tires I've already purchased ($336 for all 4) and then I can move on to the next thing. The only thing I'm not clear about is if the 6-12 tires will fit on a 12x7 rim/wheel. I've looked at the specs of several of the wheels and event though they are listed at 12x7 their width measurements are all over the place on amazon. So I'm going to go into a tire shop and discuss it all with somebody there and see if they can't get me ironed out and purchasing the correct parts. Hopefully this will get me to the point where I can deal with my local shops and make less mistakes in the future. I like the look of those Ebay tires Reticent Sage and I'll keep my current rims as a back up for those if my plan doesn't pan out with the local place. I got the 6-12's from amazon so I should be able to return them, other than shipping costs, if need be. Price of education is pretty steep ;-)

Guess I need to check the center bore too for clearance on new rim/wheels. That's yet another measurement that can get me in trouble here.

So I gave up trying to figure it out on my own. I just put it on a trailer and took it to Les Schwab and asked them to make it happen. Here's how it turned out:

Sorry I keep forgetting to look these up. They are some brand I've never heard of with some strange numbers. I'll get them posted. I think they are basically and off road golf cart tire.
