Subaru OEM Rain Visors are still available!

I have been slowly refurbishing my Sambar, and the rain visors that were on my truck were cracked and falling apart. I looked into them, and all of the plastic rain visors are still available from Subaru in Japan.

There are two versions, the narrow and wide version. There is also a different set for Trucks and Vans, as the truck only has the front visors. I reached out to JapanParts.com to confirm current pricing and availability, and these prices are accurate as of June 2018.

*EDIT* March 2019 Update: The Front and Rear door versions (aka Van version), have been discontinued, so I have removed them from the list. The prices for the front doors only version (aka Truck version), are still accurate.

*EDIT* May 2023 Update: The Wide version has finally been discontinued, and has been removed from the list. This leaves just the Normal "Truck" kit as still available, but I do wonder for how much longer.

Just to be clear, the "Truck version" does fit the Vans just fine, it just only has the visors for the front doors.

    Code:
    Part Number Version Price
F0057TA001 Door Visor, Truck (Front only) 6,417¥

Do you have a picture with these installed on your truck?

    Very nice news!
My Libero has only one, at drivers window. But I want to buy a complete set, as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

I mean, I would like to buy a set (the first one, 4 pieces, slim version), but I can't find the article anywhere.

Did you email JapanParts with the part number provided?

    Exactly.
But I tried to search the same part-number even around the web

Did JapanParts say that they were discontinued? Or did you not hear back yet? I see them listed as available on Monotaro, but you would need to use a proxy buying service which would increase the price for sure..

    You mean this one? https://www.monotaro.sg

I cannot find the part number neither. Can you post a link to the listing on monotaro?

JapanParts does not list any Sambar parts on their website by default. You must send them an email with the part number(s) you are looking for, and after confirming the price with you they will put a "custom" item on their website. You can then purchase the item(s) using the custom item link.

I sent an inquiry to them when you said they no longer have them, and it looks like the "Van" version has been discontinued. They do still have the Truck versions available. The Truck version does fit the Van just fine, but only has visors for the front doors.

If you want these, I do suggest ordering them soon.. as I have no idea for how much longer that they are going to make them. Subaru has been discontinuing parts left and right on the KS/KV chassis.. I have picked up many parts that ended up being the last one in Japan in the last few months.

Now I just have to decide between normal visor and wide visor. Can someone give me an idea of the difference?
The one in the following picture is more similar to the wide, or to the normal one?

I suppose I would prefer the wide one, but I wouldn't like it was really too wide!

I think those one are the wide version

In that case, I choose those ones.
It's a pity for the rear one not being available anymore, but that's it!

The picture in post #3 are the normal ones. It is hard to tell if that last picture you posted are wider because of the angle of the photo.

The first picture you posted are not OEM visors, but some aftermarket version.

It takes 5-7 days for them to receive them from Subaru, and then however long it takes for your selected shipping method. Selecting EMS generally takes about 8-12 days from payment to receipt for me.

Have you received them? I am curious to know how far they stick out, compared to the normal visors.

Still waiting, but I know they are traveling. I selected a shipment which takes few weeks.
I will post some pictures, when I mount them!

    Arrived!
I don't know when I have time to mount them. The surprise is when I realize they have to be stuck with double-face tape. Is it complicated? Are there any tutorial, or even suggestions to do it right the first time?

There is a clip that fits at the front that aligns it, but otherwise.. Pull up the corners of the tape film, line it up, and pull the film out. The directions should have pictures describing the procedure.

It wasn't complicated at all, indeed. I found 3 clips (for each side), to insert inside the rubber seal, and positioning was really the most complex step.
I'll post some pictures as soon as I get from my phone.
Since I have some of them, I was thinking to post a kind of tutorial. Which would be the right place?

EDIT: at least one picture, is due!

I put the prices in the original post. Last I knew, both of the front-door only versions were still available.. but that may have changed since March 2019. Your best bet is to reach out to JapanParts via email to confirm the latest pricing and availability.

I just got a set myself. Waiting for paint before I install.

Actually, I inadvertently duplicated an order so I have two. If someone needs one shipped from the US, I have a spare. I have a few things I will post over in the classifieds in a while.

by the way, those look really good on your rig!
