I just wanted to put out a feeler to see if some of the truck owners wanted to make a trip to Broad River ATV park in Charlton, GA either April 19-20, or 26-27. I've heard that they allow us there from another guy on the board here whose been. I htought it might be fun to get a few together and go wheeling as a small group. Their website is painfully slow even on highspeed, but I heard the park is pretty decent. They have cabin rentals on site for 95 a night as well. Would more than likely want to book early.

Anyone interested? Just post here! I'll go either weekend anyway, more than likely the 26-27th.

Their cabins are really cool. I have stayed in them several times. They also have camping spots too for tents and campers. The trails are awesome and one way which is really cool. Some of the trails are a little tight but you will see people riding Kawasaki Mules, Arctic Cat Prowlers, Yamaha Rhinos and Polaris Rangers there all of which are about the same size as a mini. I know the Prowler is 59" wide because a friend has one and he rides there with no problem at all.

The 26 - 27 might be the best for me. They have some very large mud holes there with trails that go around the rough stuff. They have signs marked that call those trails "girlie man" trails. lol

Definately will want to book early as those cabins will go fast.

The 26th 27th works best for me as well, I forgot I have a SCCA race the 20th. So that's four trucks so far on the 26th 27th?
Fantastic. Can't wait to see them. I got my front suspension drop finished and will post pics when I return from Boston monday or tuesday. I did it to get the short left axle looking normal again. Greg

I'm going for the 26-27th. I booked a cabin that sleeps 6 for friday and sat night. I don't mind sharing if people pay their share of the bill. My parts got here while I was away, so I'm ready to roll. Greg

    This just in.....................

I heard today from a reliable source who was at Broad River this weekend, that they will no longer allow Minis there due to the weight of the trucks. I personally have not spoken with the management, but if you have reservations there already, you might want to give them a call!!!!

Hopefully this is a false alarm, as I was looking forward to going there this weekend, as long as the kids are still healthy at the end of the week. They have both been sick recently.

I'll be on the phone with them Thursday to get a yes or no. I will try e-mail in the mean time. Thanks for the heads up. I might have to go to Coal Creek again, that was great!

JT from Broad River is calling me back in 30 minutes or so. I pleaded our case, used Ploaris's website listed weight of the ranger, and answered all his questions nicely about speed, tires and weight. Keep your fingers crossed!

Here's the skinny: I got permission from one of the two brothers that own the park for me and 4Wheelin to come out this weekend and let them see us in action. Their main concern isn't weight, it's stability and overall safety. JT is the man I talked to and he basicly said to his brother that a Rhino or a Ranger could just as easily run over some kid on a 50 as we could. I said that in a real offroad situation, these trucks tend to be slower than UTV's because they have a little stiffer suspension up front. I can go lots of places, but I tend to stay in 1st or 2nd gear.

Keep you're fingers crossed for us, but I think the two of us will be good promotors of the use of these trucks. Hopfully Hatfield and McCoy will do the same for us there.
