I've been using this site for a few years for helpful tips and finally I signed up! NEED HELP!

1989 Honda Acty Eo5A 550- always ran great until about 2 months ago. I have a crank -no start condition and I swear I've checked absolutely everything!

    Has 180lbs in each cylinder-
    Fuel pump new and working-
Coil and ICM new and working creating bright blue spark-
    All grounds checked-
    All vacuum lines checked-
    Timing is spot on-
    Carb jets clear-
    Needle and seat good-
Plugs wet with fuel from overcranking (not firing)

The problem felt electrical because it was - all of a sudden with no prior symptoms- what am I missing??? Is there a bad relay or something else I'm missing?? I have the manual and have scoured every page!

Have spark! Have combustion! Have Air (pretty sure)! Ideas welcome!!!!

    Thanks

I do not know that engine at all, but if no spark, based on my experience with older BMW I would check impulse/crankshaft position sensor (If that engine has one). If there is no signal for top dead center, no spark. But that is based on my BMW experience, not Honda Acty Eo5A 550

Thanks for the response. The Eo5A is basically exactly the same as the Acty Eo7A with a smaller cylinder bore. Also it doesn't have a crank sensor. This was the first time I tried posting on here and figured out later how to post to the forum so hopefully someone can help. Just wait and see I guess-

Did you meanwhile solve the problem? If so, what was it and how did you solve it?

YES!! Thank god... after checking everything you could possibly imagine and even having my local ATV/motorcycle shop double check and add a second set of eyes we determined together that the internal distributor electronics had failed (not the Ignition Control Module). The crazy part was that it showed good bright blue spark like it should! We tried extended cranking of the motor and found that after 7-10 seconds the spark went away and became intermittent causing the no-start condition... I bought a remanufactured distributor from Yokohama Motors for about $450 and after intstall and timing it fired right up. Runs great now!! Thanks for checking back!
