Hey just got the carry and got it running but the fuel tank is rusting so I'm cleaning it. Pump would pull for just a minute then act clogged up. I'd blow air back through the pick up and it would pressure up to 25 pounds before it would start blowing any air through it and it would be just a trickle of air. Hook pump back up it would do the same. Pump for a minute and then hang up... Any idea what's on the bottom of that pick up line?

My 2000 has a sock filter on the bottom of the pump. If yours is like mine and is efi you are probably pressuring it up enough to pop the pressure regulator in the tank as it is tied to the outlet of the pump and this may be were all your air is going.

Like a home furnace when you add more air pressure than 5lbs you will ruin diaphragm for air/fuel intake.
