I installed the tracks on my mini a couple months ago. I am so excited that I can now post pics on the forum......so I am posting them all over!! Very excited to try these out in the snow to see how they do. Hoping to be able to get to my remote cabin all winter long with them. Hope they float good!!!! Here is the final product: AkBillyBow
Many years ago, I was a fleet mechanic for APS Arizona Public Service) company, supplying power to all different parts of Az. I retired in 1990. We had power distribution lines running all over the deserts and mountains of Az. Wherever those lines went, the crews had to go, and whenever they broke something, I had to go. We had Snowcats, Snowmobiles and these type tracks for the Ford & Chevvy pickups. All vehicles except were 4WD to allow us to get where we needed to go. At different times, I used these tracks on the pickups in much varying snow conditions(very soft powder to hard crust). The tracks spread out the ground load so much that there was very little load on the snow and it almost at times seemed as if you were floating. Just make sure you are moving when you try to turn the steering wheel, the big footprint of the tracks puts a tremendous load on all the steering components. If using in swampy or tundra kind of conditions, watch for grass buildup in the tracks which can tighten them up and even untrack them.
Thanks for the info. Found out the hard way about the grass in the swamps!! Was hoping to hear some feedback about use in deep snow. Don't want to step off the trail and bury it in the deep snow....that is my biggest concern!! Thanks....AkBillyBow
I bought it with the topper on it from the original owner. He had it custom built by a local company that builds toppers and slide in campers. It is very good quality....nicer than I have on my road truck!! AkBillyBow
Hi everyone I was just wondering how much could I spend If i purchase a set (4 tracks) and delivered it to Philippines? I mean from person who has never seen minitruck with tracks is badass and I wanna have those!
All, some of you have been asking me where I bought my tracks. I bought them from atvtracks.net.....not .com, like I previously stated. Sorry for the mix-up!! AkBillyBow
Good call on the UTV T4S. There are lots on the market and after lots of research I chose them too. The changed the design of them in 2015 to make them better. You can see the details on their website. http://www.camso.co/assets/products/specs/en/PS_AU/2015_ProductSheet_UTV_ENG_FINAL.pdf
Yep....that's what my tracks are. Funny thing they state less than 2 hours installation time at the bottom of the flyer. It is more like 2 days, as they don't have a "kit" for these mini trucks, and you have to fabricate your own!! AkBillyBow
