Ok so I figured out most the carb issues. When I finally got her running good I noticed coolant leaking from timing cover. Can I assume that's a water pump issue? Or is there a freeze plug that is there?

Well I got it to run better. Did a lil seafoam I. The carb, let it sit. While it sat I checked the coolant inlets at the carb which seemed good.. Lubed the choke and linkage again, and again and kinda worked them back and forth. Fired it up and I got it to run way better. Adjusted the warm idle like Fupabox's video explained.. Then noticed coolant leaking from the timing cover. I assume it's a pump. Going to look tonight and see. Was trying to avoid un needed repairs lol. Was thinking there be an old freeze plug or something hidden there.

It seemed to run way better tho, but I only had it about 10 minutes then I saw the leak.

I looked tonight and it def is coming from behind the timing cover. Freeze plugs found and ok. All hoses ok. Guess I'm diving into a water pump replacement. Found one for $100 on king cobra parts.. Any pointers from you guys will be greatly appreciated.

Yep, water pump if leaking behind cover.
It's pretty simple install. There will be marks to line up when you tighten up the idler wheel. To check your self look at the fly wheel and make sure you are top dead center. Go ahead and change idler wheel while you are in there. With plenty of light you will see the marks on pullies.

Water pump install went great! Timing is spot on. Took the carb off and cleaned it really good and now the thing purrs like a kitten. Found a jet partially clogged. Still have a few lil odds and ends to do, but all lil stuff. Gotta say thanx for this forum and group. The information I learned from here was amazing. thanks for the advice fellas!

And old grayfellow after I put the new pump in and fixed that it still was running rough, and wouldn't idle for more then a couple minutes. I decided to pull the carb. I took a lot of pictures of all the vac lines prior to pulling it. Carefully removed it. Took apart and thoroughly cleaned it. The two jets in the bowl were ok, I found one jet under a brass screw on top of the carb. When I pulled it found it was clogged partially. Cleaned it. Made my own gaskets for the float bowl. And tested the solenoids, both were good. Cleaned and lubed the choke assembly on the left of the carb. Then re installed it to the truck. Carefully put the lines back using my pictures. It fired up after a few try's getting the carb primed. Adjusted the idle and it purrs like a kitty.

No I didn't.. Just of the vaccum lines prior to pulling apart.. Their is a thread in the forum that shows a pic of the bowl apart.. I used the that one to find the idle jet.. The other jet that I found was clogged is almost in the top center of the carb, had to rove a flathead brass screw then pull it out.

I plan on cracking my carb apart due to the amount of dirt I had in the tank and how clogged the fuel filter was. I know some small crap must of made it into the carb over the years

I tried to just post a link but it wouldn't let me. This looking down in the float bowl from the top of the carb. The jet In The bottom I think is the slow jet. The top one u see is the idle jet I believe. I didn't buy a carb kit for mine. I just carefully took apart everything I could, cleaned with carb cleaner and re assembled back the same way. Counting thread turns and etc. I got a sheet of fiber gasket material and made new gaskets when one tore. Wasn't too bad.
