Fuse blowing in 4WD

    Greetings!

I have a 2001 Hi Jet with a 660cc engine (if the registration is correct). Recently, the fuse connected to the 4WD switch started blowing (the same fuse is used for the instrument panel warning lights and temp gauge). I thought I had the problem isolated to blowing the fuse when going in reverse with 4WD activated, but I recently noticed it happened when driving forward, also.

My search of the site did not find any posts specifically related to fuses blowing with 4WD. However, I did see there can be numerous electrical issues. My plan is to climb under the truck and check as much as I can for broken wires which may be shorting out. But, I wanted to run it by the forum to see if anyone had experienced this and may be able to offer a shortcut.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

That is correct, however, I have an update.

When I looked underneath the truck for any loose connections or broken wires, I did find a wire that had some insulation that had been scraped off. When I checked it with my meter, it didn't seem to be in this circuit. I taped the wire up, though, and I have not had the problem since [knock on wood].
