    Randy from Salmon. Late fifties. Engineer for the Forest Service.

    Just bought a 1994 Daihatsu, Scissors Dump. Hopefully it will be delivered soon.

    Plans for it include:

    Front and rear square tubing bumpers, that I can insert trailer jacks into to work as outriggers when I use the scissors lift as a mobile scaffold system;

    a winch, mounted on a receiver plate, so I can move it to any of the square tube points on the new bumpers;

    a snow plow (part of why I bought it is the real cab with a heater, way nicer than a UTV for plowing);

    42-inch high guard rails for the bed that will attach to the bed side hinge points when I use it as a scaffold;

    a cable remote to run the scissors lift, so I can raise and lower the bed while I'm working in it;

    a lift kit, (any advice will be greatly appreciated), and some off road tires;

    skid plates, (a maybe, any advice would be appreciated);

    install dzus fasteners on the engine cover plate, so I can remove it easily in the field to access the engine;

    I'm sure I'll find more things to "improve" as I get working on it and driving it.

    Hopefully I'll figure out how to post pictures, and can let folks follow along as things progress.

    Sounds like you have given it a lot of thought. On mine I ended up getting a couple of long reach hydraulic jacks like they use on engine hoists.I just use them on the rear and they work real well for stabilizers.
    Good luck with your project,I'm sure you'll enjoy it and it will save you a ton of work.
