Well this has been a long time in the process but I'm finally finding the time to dedicate to finishing it. I started out with a full-size Chevy brush guard that I picked up locally for $40. This thing was in pretty rough shape after colliding with a few deer and being used in the Maine woods. I ended up cutting 11" out of the center and about 3" on the headlight guards. I had to believe it or not add 5" to the height to raise it up to be in line with the headlights. I removed the front 4" lift and used that to weld my 2"x 2" x 3/8" angle iron that the brush guard would be sitting on and bolted to. I also dropped down and welded a 2" flat bar along the bottom which will also tie into the lift block. To compensate for the additional 100+ pounds I ordered 12" x 2.5" coil springs with a 250# rating. Then cut them down to 9" which was the height of the original springs. I don't have it completely done but should be in a week or so. Well any way a picture is worth a thousand words. I have learned a lot using this sight and it’s about time I give something back. Clint

yes definitely the nicest truck I've seen. Just a question. I do have some 25" side by side tires . Brand new I was thinking about putting them on my Carry. Do you think they would fit ? I did add the 250# coils to get 2 inch lift. Just would like your opinion. Tony
I did measure across wheel well and it just makes it . The reason I'm asking is because the alloy rim the tires are on, are 4x4.5 versus 4x100 that mine have. so I would have to use adapters at a cost of $100. I just don't want to throw money away. The alloy rims and tires, that are on my old side by side must be worth close to a grand Thanks
Hello Tony, mine has a 4" lift plus the 250# springs and my tires don't rub at all. I know this sounds kinda stupid but couldn't you jack up your Carry under the suspension and place your UTV rim and tire with the center cap removed and then center it on the spindle and just eye-ball it? I'd turn the wheel and check fror interface taking account for your wheel adapter. My gut feel is it will fit but probably rub at times?
Thanks for the reply. yes I should just try eyeballing it. I'm just lazy.. ha ha full time rancher running 700 cows. The side by side was made by a chinese co called Kazuma. I bought it used for $3200. Thought I got a screaming deal. Boy was I wrong. engine seized and parts for those piles of junk are real hard to get. Not to mention shipping. So Kazuma is parked in the back 40 shed where I don't have to look at it. Yeah tomorrow I'll take my rifle shoot her one more time and take the tires off. Cheers my friend Tony
I just put on 25x8x12 Maxxis Bighorns last week and thought I might have a problem but haven't yet and have definitely put the suspension through a workout.
One more thing please. I stayed away from the actual lift kit because of all the negative reports regarding camber and CV joint wear,binding. How did you overcome these problems.
Mine is a suspension lift and not a body lift. So the only thing that was effected was the drive shafts which I haven't had any trouble them at all.
Sorry Tony, Its late! I had that backwards mine is a body lift and not a suspension lift and no issues at all with the CV joints and the angle is not bad at all. Good luck and take care
