Hi Everybody, I just got my new 1999 Daihatsu Hijet. I imported it from Japan, and have been waiting patiently for months, and it's finally here. I flew down to Vancouver BC on friday, and after ~1200km, I'm finally home (I got home Saturday afternoon) The truck was awesome on the drive, I was able to maintain 110km/hr on flat and 100km/hr on hills most of the trip with the exception of a couple hills where i lugged down to 85-90. I only burned just over 100L of fuel on the trip too, which isn't bad considering the high revs for most of the trip.

When I got back to Fort St John yesterday, the first thing i did was to go buy a new stereo, which me and my bro installed without issues, the door card even have perforation cut-outs on the front lower portion that is perfect fit for a 4" speaker.

I'm in the process of ordering a lift kit for it to be able to put some decent tires on it, but for now that's about all I've got planned for it. 2015-05-03 07.29.31.jpeg 2015-05-03 07.29.56.jpeg 2015-05-03 07.30.10.jpeg

Dam that's a pretty serious snow for May 5. I used to live at Anahim lake so I know the weather. definitely do not miss it.

    Love those Daihatsu's.
They have always been my favorite truck.
I have pipe line welder in south Texas that traded in his Kubota rtv900 several yrs. on a 99 model Daihatsu.
Recently I talked to him and he said that was the best thing he's ever done.

I'm loving mine, I took it camping last weekend out in the bush, and down a few quad trails, I haven't had any issues getting around, even with the crappy tires ive got on it right now, the only bad thing i've noticed is the lack of ground clearance, but i've ordered a 2" lift, so hopefully that, and some bit bigger tires will help some.
