Hi everyone I have 92 ha4 just changed oil and filter ran good ,then it started knocking. It blew oil out around filter.don't really know where oil pump is or does anyone have any idea with my trouble
is it double gasketed? I hope you didn't run it dry of oil. Always be sure the old gasket comes off with the old filter, otherwise it will never seal and pump oil out around the filter.
Old gasket was removed .I guess there is a relief in the oil pump and maybe the spring broke? I'm new to the sight but have looked on here for quite sometime. I have had the truck for about 5 yes with no issues til now!is the oil pump in the oil drain pan
The oil pump is the housing behind the crankshaft timing belt pulley. Remove timing belt, idler, lower pulley, timing belt back cover, oil, oil pan, oil pick up/strainer. Unbolt pump housing and slide pump off crankshaft.
