i am having trouble getting it to start in cold weather anybody got any idea what might be the problem
that's the problem most guys have with Japanese three cylinders. my 97 carry likes the oil pan heater I glued to the bottom of it. even when it's -20 C.. for around $50 your truck will start every time with little wear to your starter and other valuable pieces. Cheers
You have an EFI engine. Change the plugs, have a strong battery, one can of sea foam .... it should improve the starting. Several 2012's in Eau Claire, WI and they start every day and parked outside.
On the EFI models(Don't know if the Carbed models have electric pumps) turn the key on and wait about 2 - 3 seconds then hit start. This will allow the pump to build up pressure before cranking. Fred
Do a compression check or check the intake valve lash. If its a F6B motor, some have problems with worn intake valves. I saw it on a 2003, wouldn't expect it to be a problem on a '10 but that's exactly how the '03 acted.
Did you figure this out? I've got a 90' Suzuki carry and, as soon as the temperature started getting even a little cold at night ending summer (in British Columbia), it started having trouble. I picked up one of those magnetic heaters and tried it on the oil pan. No help. It fired right up before it started cooling off. The choke isn't helping either.
