U42t, has anyone rewired the dump switch to allow the bed to be raised and lowered without starting the engine? It would be handy for tinkering in the garage to not have to start it every time you wanted to raise or lower. Thanks
One of the relays gets power from the signal wire from the alternator,if you replace it you'll be ok. I think it's a green wire but it;s been a while and I could be wrong.
Doesn't your dump work in ACC mode? On my 90 Suzuki Carry I don't need to actually start the car to use the dump. If you wire it straight to the battery understand that it will drain the battery quick, especially if there is a load in bed so I wouldn't do it to often without the engine running.
No, mine has to have the engine running. I found the blue with yellow stripe at the switch is the power supply for switch. I snipped the wire and powered it from the radio power. Works with the key off now. It is a low amp draw circuit only used to power a relay. I'm only going to use it with the engine off to raise the bed in the garage to tinker with it. Thanks for the replies. Also as a side note I also installed a old used kenwood CD player. It fit perfectly. I reused the original radios brackets and they screwed right to the side of the kenwood. No issues with depth.
