Stumbled across the site today after pulling my hair out for the last couple days. My Hijet was having carburetor issues and wouldn't run smoothly. After reading a post or 20 I modded my fuel cut off solenoid and now it runs better than ever! I can't say thanks enough!
Nice truck, I could I ask where you bought it. I'm 6'2" and my Carry is a little small. I was thinking if I bought extented cab I could move seat back a few inches. Thoughts !!
Tony, The Daihatsu/Mitsubishi extended cab seats do not retract back any farther than a regular cab truck. They both can be modified but the Mit. is a whole lot easier.
I'm not sure what he's talking about, but the seats will lay against the back of the cab therefore giving you ALOT more room
The Daihatsu super jumbo seats will tilt all the back as well. I've had a number of them over the yes.
they lay back but the seat will not retract into the extended cab portion. It can be modified but the Dai. are a b...h to do. Mit's are a lot easier
When Bull Dog Mini Trks. Was in business Chis Allen was adding extended cabs to the standard trks. After the the cab was done he would remount the seats a little father back so a guy that's 6' plus still had plenty of Leg room. I had him build a couple for me. I sold one of the custom trks. To a guy in Colorado that was 6'2" / 300lbs. He fit fine. Chris shut his shop down after he got a offer to build a pipe line out in west Texas a few hrs. ago. He would also add covers for beds, add bench seats to haul up to 6 hunters, 4 to 6" lift kits, rebuild motors, if you could think of it he could build it. I saw a number of 10k dollar + trucks come out of his shop. They were the cats meow. Hopefully he'll back into business when he gets done with the pipe line.
Thank you for the reply Woodhe1. Maybe this year I'll look for a new Mitsubishi truck. I've only just got into these vehicles over the last few months. I imported mine from Yokohama. Even on the auction site I never see the extended cab. They do have them in China . But my last purchase from China. A 4x4 kazuma side by side pooched out . it made me to never want to see chinese made products again. Have a great year Tont
They quit making them in 2014. Suzuki bought out the line ... the 2015 Suzuki's have a body style similar to the Mit/Daihatsu no separate box. The increase in Suzuki price is around 25%. Not a lot of competition between the manufactures anymore. I have a 2015 on its way here and really want to compare the 2014 and 2015 body panels (especially the rear of the cab). We should know in a few months if it is possible to to make a rear cab insert that will accommodate 2002-2015 Suzuki's
I bought a 1991 Daihatsu Jumbo and those seats not only move back, they recline as well. I had a buddy 6'1 get in and he had plenty of room.
love the really like the extended cab. I take it that is a 2014 Mitsubishi. I'm pretty sure we can't get those up here in Canada. I've never seen a new one anyway. You would think that I could bring it as a off road vehicle. Cheers --Tony
